Because of Guavas (a one-phase drama, 4 people)

    Narration

One afternoon, Didi and Dodo go out to look for some guavas. Coincidentally,they  pass the Dodo’s uncle’s yard and see a guava tree growing there. They intend to pick some guavas by throwing some stones towards them. The thrown stone is flung away towards a pane of glass of the uncle’s house, so it is broken. Dodo’s uncle comes out in anger. Lita, who has just got home from her dancing course, passes by the guava tree and is fallen by a stone from up the tree. Dodo’s uncle is suspicious that there are two pairs of sandals under the tree. Didi and Dodo fall down, so they get caught. Dodo explains to his uncle and he tells a lie as Didi commands him. Lita knows that they tell a lie and they just want to steal the guavas. She tells her father to punish them. At the end, they are punished to sweep the yard which is quite wide.

B.     Dialogue

One afternoon, Didi and Dodo are looking for some guavas. Coincidentally, they passes by Dodo’s Uncle’s yard.

Didi   : “Whose house is it? It’s very big!”

Dodo :”It’s my uncle’s. It’s quite big in a rural region like this.”

Dodo :”Mmmm... look! There’s a guava tree over there. There are likely many guavas. We are allowed to pick one or two of them, aren’t we? I think your uncle won’t mind.”

Dodo : (while scratching his head) “Alright, but what can we use to pick them?”

Didi: (taking some stones) “How about using these?”

Dodo :”Well, that’s okay. There’s no pole.”

(They throw the stones towards the guavas)

  Pyarr!!!

Didi   :”How have you done it! We will get caught by your uncle.”

Dodo :”So, what should we do? The pane of glass is broken. It’s also because of you.”

Didi   :”All right. It’s better to climb up the tree than getting caught.”

(They directly climb up the tree)

Dodo :”We should have climbed up  a while ago. How about our sandals?”

Didi   :”Just let them under the tree. It’s difficult to climb up while putting them on.”

Dodo   :”Okay.” (doing Didi’s instruction)

(Dodo’s uncle comes out; he looks mad)

Uncle :”Who has done this? What a bad-behaved person!”

(Lita gets home from her dancing course and suddenly she is fallen by a stone)

Lita :”Ouch... who fell this stone? Ouch.. my head gets pain..”

Uncle  :” You have got home. What’s happening to you?”

Lita   :”While I was going home and walking by that guava tree, srtangely, I was fallen by a stone instead of a guava.”

Uncle  :”Look! There are two pairs of sandals. Whose those are they?”

Lita  :” I don’t know, Dad.”

(Suddenly, Didi and Dodo fall down)

Uncle   :”Here you are! You must have broken my pane of glass. You also stole my guavas, indeed!”

Dodo :”Please forgive us, Uncle. We are really sorry..” (His eyes are sparkkling like fireflies)

Didi  : (whispering to Dodo) “Just tell your uncle that we stole the guavas to cure my grandpa getting ill.”

Dodo  :”Okay.”

Uncle :”What’s happening to you?”

Dodo :”Well, I’ll explain why we stole the guavas. We were looking for some guavas to cure Didi’s grandpa getting ill. Then, we unintentionally broke your pane of glass.

Didi   :”That... That’s right, Uncle. Please pity us..” (pretending to ask for unccle’s pity)

Lita    :” You’re just making excuses. But..” (She directly whispers to her father)

Lita  :” Dad, Didi’s grandpa passed away two years ago, didn’t he? So, they just want to steal the guavas. Well, Dad...”

Uncle  :”Alright. You’re allowed to pick some guavas and I forgive you for all happened.”

Didi   :”Yeyey.. . thank you, Sir!”

Dodo  :”You are very kind, Uncle. Because of Lita, we can get the guavas for your grandpa, Didi. Although we have broken  the Uncle’s pane of glass.”

Lita  :”My father is a wise person, indeed. He always forgive anyone asking for apology to him.”

Didi  :”We are really sorry as well for falling the stone towards you. That was because of Dodo.”

Dodo  :”Wasn’t it you, Didi?”

Lita    :”That’s fine.”

(They climb back up the tree)

Uncle  :”Wait for a while.”

Didi    :”What’s up?

Didi and Dodo :”Oh my God...”

At the end, they sweep the Dodo’s uncle’s yard which is quite wide and Lita keeps watching them out so that they cannot run away.
